1967 Bus / Westfalia Campmobile
- Bill Bowman, BussesByTheArch18@msn.com
As background info, we restored
it back in 1985 and have been enjoying it ever since. Some of the
features on it are the metallic two-tone paint job, full Westy non-walk-thru
interior including an original, era-correct Westy wood slat roof rack and
correct '67 floorless Westfalia "add-a-room" side tent, original Safari
windshields (found on a Bus in a junkyard in Honduras by Jeff Walters,
and then restored by Charlie Hammill himself back in 1986), accessory cargo
door side step, front cab assist steps. The motor is a modified,
balanced and blueprinted 1600 cc featuring ported dual port heads, "doghouse"
oil cooler, remote spin-on oil filter, Berg 1 1/2 quart oil sump, mild
110 cam, dual weber 34 ICT carburetors, and a German 009 distributor.
The transmission is stock. Extra gauges are an oil pressure and oil
temp gauge. For sounds, we have a AM/FM stereo cassette and a 40watt
booster/equalizer and four speakers, a 40 channel C.B radio for the road
trips, and theft protection.
