1966, 21 Window Walkthrough- Jim Alton, New Hampshire jhaltonii@earthlink.net

It's [mostly] in its original Velvet Green and Pearl White with a "Platinum Mesh" interior.  I think the photos of a platinum mesh bus at the TMI website are photos of my bus.  However, it has a West Coast Classics interior with TMI vinyl.

I bought it way back in 1988.  I was in the Air Force, stationed at Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton, Ohio.  I was home in Pittsburgh around Christmas, and I realized I could make it to Washington D.C. and back in one day to check out a bus advertised in the S.O.T.O Newsletter (remember them?).  It turned out the seller was an Air Force Colonel.

I bought the bus, flew to D.C. and tried to drive it back.  The fuel pump didn't quite make it to Dayton, but with a little help from my friends...

Eventually, I towed it to Los Angeles AFB.  I stayed in L.A. for 9 years, when I finally moved to New Hampshire in 2000, I left it with Lenny Copp at West Coast Classics in Fullerton, CA.  I did go back for "acceptance tests" in October 2001.  The "tests" amounted to OCTO Fest, and visiting some friends.  It finally came to New Hampshire on a warm (really!) day in December, 2001.
